South Korean officials say plans are afoot to suspend the arrival of foreign workers with records of recent tours of South African countries in order to curb the possible spread of the Covid 19. South Korea has already banned visitors from eight African countries. Currently, workers from 16 Asian countries are working in South Korea under the Ministry of Labor. A Labor ministry official said he was trying to make sure that none of the workers who came to Korea had a record of traveling to South African countries, either by themselves or by people close to them. Earlier, the Korean government announced that it would resume issuing visas to foreign workers from Asian countries under the Employment Permit System. Officials from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor are discussing in detail how long the arrival of foreign workers should be postponed.
