The prevalence of the omicron variant of coronavirus is increasing in the country and for the second day in a row, more than one thousand cases were reported after which the total number of cases exceeded 1.3 million.
During the last 24 hours, 51,145 tests were performed to diagnose the virus, which resulted in 1,293 positive cases.

In addition, 6 more people lost their lives due to the epidemic while the condition of 609 patients is critical.

Sindh: 759 cases, 2 deaths
Punjab: 376 cases, one death
Islamabad: 109 cases
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 41 cases, 3 deaths
Balochistan: A case
Azad Kashmir: 7 cases
However, no case was reported in Gilgit-Baltistan.
So far, a total of 131,141 corona cases have been confirmed in Pakistan, of which 1,258,086 have been cured but 28,961 have died.
At present, the number of active cases in the country has reached 14,094.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Omicron variant has been found in almost 100 countries, and cases of this new type of Code 19 at community transmission sites are doubling every one and a half to three days.
