Pfizer and moderna covid vaccines approved for children under 5 in the United States

FDA Commissioner Robert Cliff said in a statement that several parents and medical experts were awaiting approval of vaccines for infants.

"Based on what we have observed in older groups, it is expected that the vaccines will give young children tremendous protection against serious complications of code 19, including hospitalization and death," he said.

The Corona virus epidemic killed more than 440 children under the age of 4 in the United States due to code 19, while hospital admissions rates are now higher than those vaccinated.

The FDA, after reviewing the results of trials on thousands of children with both vaccines, declared them safe and effective.

The Pfizer vaccine will be given to children aged 6 months to 5 years in 3 doses over a period of 3 months.

On the other hand, the moderna vaccine for children of the same age will be used in 2 doses, with an interval of one month between the two doses.
