Lahore's Walton Airport closed.

 


The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued an order that Walton Airport will not be used from today. Airport Manager K said that he has instructed flying clubs at the airport to ground all aircraft.

According to the Flying Club management, more than 200 student pilots are undergoing training at Walton Airport. The closure of Walton Airport will affect five flying clubs and the government's Plant Protection Department. According to civil aviation officials, training flights from Walton Airport have been temporarily shifted to Allama Iqbal Airport. CAA officials said that space has been allotted in Muridke for the new flying club. It will be constructed in Muridke. Walton Airport will be abolished and a business district will be set up for which a notification has been issued.
