According to foreign media reports, last week, Australian Finance Minister Joshua Anthony met with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pachai.
Speaking to the media, Joshua Anthony said, "We are very close to some very important trade agreements and we have made a lot of progress.

Google and Facebook, on the other hand, have opposed Australian legislation that is forcing media companies to pay for news.
Facebook has refused to talk about any specific legislation, threatening Australia and saying it would shut down its search engine in Australia if the law was enacted.
