Government decides not to allow opposition to hold rally on GT Road Gujranwala

 

The government has decided not to allow the opposition Ittehad-e-Pakistan Democratic Moment (PDM) to hold a rally on GT Road Gujranwala while the PDM leadership has said that the rally will be held in any case and no government obstruction will be tolerated.

According to private TV, the government has decided not to allow the opposition alliance PDM to hold a rally on October 16 on GT Road, while the opposition is likely to get conditional permission to hold a rally at Jinnah Stadium, according to Corona SOPs. The opposition will not be allowed to hold a rally on GT Road under any circumstances. The opposition will have to ensure implementation of Corona SOPs for the rally at Jinnah Stadium. Legal action will be taken if G Road is closed.

On the other hand, the PDM leadership is adamant that a meeting will be held in any case and no government obstruction will be tolerated. Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that it has been decided to hold a meeting on GT Road in Gujranwala, coward. The elected rulers have to decide whether to hold a rally in Gujranwala or to make the whole of Pakistan a rally ground.
