A forest fire in the United States has claimed the lives of 33 people. Authorities say dozens are still missing.
According to a report by the American TV channel CNN, forest fires have broken out in 94 different places which have engulfed 4.6 million acres and reduced them to ashes. The fire also engulfed the West Coast cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, as well as the state of Oregon.
The wildfires began in California on August 22 and have since spread. Fires are still raging in 25 locations in California, 16 in Washington, 13 in Oregon and 10 in Idaho. Fires have also been reported in the US states of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. More than 30,000 firefighters and paramedics are working to contain the blaze.
