Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: PTI provincial deputy general secretary shot dead

 


In two separate incidents of firing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Deputy General Secretary Tahir Iqbal was killed in Haripur while a local PPP leader was killed in Peshawar.

Police said that unidentified gunmen shot dead the provincial deputy general secretary of PTI in Ghazi area of ​​Haripur.

He said that the incident took place within the limits of Ghazi police station and the driver and his accomplice were injured in the incident.

According to police, the assailants managed to flee the scene after the firing.

Haripur police said the deceased was identified as Dr Tahir Iqbal, a PTI provincial official.

Police said the motive for the killing was not immediately clear, but police have launched an investigation.

Local PPP leader killed in Peshawar

The second shooting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took place in Peshawar, where three people, including a local Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader, were killed and three others were injured in a drive-by shooting.

According to police, the incident took place within the limits of Machni police station, where unidentified persons indiscriminately opened fire on a moving vehicle, killing the PPP leader along with two security guards.

The injured and bodies were rushed to a hospital.

Police said no arrests have been made yet, but the incident appears to be the result of an old feud.

It may be recalled that a firing incident had also taken place in Peshawar on September 9 and unknown assailants had opened fire on eunuchs in Palusai area of ​​Tehkal police station last night, as a result of which one eunuch was killed on the spot and another was seriously injured. Was

According to the report, as soon as the eunuchs got into the car to return after attending a private function, they were shot by unknown assailants.

The eunuch who was killed in the firing was identified as Shakeel alias Gul Panda while the eunuch who was injured in the attack was identified as Tariq alias Chahat.

At the request of the complainant Chahat, the police lodged a First Information Report (FIR) of the incident. The FIR stated that the affected eunuchs could identify the shooters.
