In India, a 2-year-old boy is trapped in a 30-foot deep boring hole.



In India, 2-year-old Surjeet fell into a 30-foot-deep boring hole dug for water while he was playing outside the house, which is still undergoing rescue operation.

According to Indian media, 2-year-old Surjeet was playing outside the house with other children in Tamil Nadu that suddenly fell into a 30-foot-deep hole; this boring hole was dug seven years ago to drain underground water but disappeared. Yet it was not full.



The fire brigade and rescue service began rescue work and threw a tube to provide oxygen for the baby to breathe while digging nearby with heavy machinery to reach the baby, however en route to a large rock. The excavation had to stop.



Initial efforts to rescue the child have also called for National Disaster Management personnel, but despite 42 hours, the baby has not been removed.



Politicians and showbiz figures have urged the public to pray for the safe return of the child.
