Kurt Zouma, a French footballer and club West Ham United player, found it costly to slap and kick a pet cat.
According to the BBC, Zuma has been ordered to perform 180 hours of community service after pleading guilty to kicking and slapping his cat.
The 27-year-old has also been banned from raising cats for five years.
Zuma reportedly pleaded guilty to two counts of felony criminal mischief under the Animal Welfare Act in a May hearing in Thames Magistrates' Court.
According to reports, Kurt Zuma's footballer brother Yuan confessed to aiding and abetting his older brother in committing a crime, which led to a court ordering him to serve 140 hours in the community.
Yuan, 24, reportedly recorded a video at his older brother's home and posted it on SnapChat on February 6 with 'laughing' emojis.
In the video, Kurt was seen kicking and slapping a pet cat in his kitchen while he was heard saying, "I swear, I will kill this cat."
The district judge said both Zuma and Yuan took part in the humiliating and reprehensible act with the pet cat.
According to reports, in addition to community service, Kurt was ordered by the court to pay 9,000 pounds۔
