New Delhi: Unidentified gunmen opened fire on the car of Asaduddin Owaisi, head of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Muslimeen and a member of the Assembly, in which he was fortunately safe.
According to Indian media reports, Asaduddin Owaisi's car was fired upon while he was returning to Delhi after completing his election campaign in Uttar Pradesh.
According to police officials, Asaduddin Owaisi was completely safe in the firing.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi says that 3-4 rounds of bullets were fired upon his vehicle near Chhajarsi toll plaza while he was heading to Delhi after an election-related event in Kithaur, Meerut (in Uttar Pradesh).

Talking to Indian media, Asaduddin Owaisi said, "I was on my way to Delhi from Meerut when three to four armed men approached my car near Chhajarsi Toll Plaza and opened fire three or four times."
"The tires of my car were punctured by the firing. After the incident, I got into another car and moved to a safe place," he said.
