A year and a half after the resumption of diplomatic and trade relations, a defense agreement was reached between Israel and Bahrain.
According to the International News Agency, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz arrived in Bahrain and met with Bahraini King Rawa Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Royal Palace.
In this important meeting, the issues related to defense cooperation under the Ibrahim Agreement between the two countries were finalized and this agreement was also reached a year and a half later.
A statement issued by the Israeli Ministry of Defense said that the Memorandum of Understanding will provide for future cooperation in the fields of intelligence, military, industrial partnership and more.
The Israeli defense minister, accompanied by his Bahraini counterpart, also visited US naval headquarters. The Israeli defense minister said the agreement with Bahrain was Israel's first of its kind with its new allies in the region.
It should be noted that Bahrain, like some other Arab countries, had recognized Israel through US mediation and announced the resumption of diplomatic and trade relations.
