The British government has claimed that its citizens in Afghanistan have been detained by the Taliban, most of them journalists and some businessmen.
According to the International News Agency, the statement issued by the British Foreign Office regarding the detention of its citizens in Afghanistan by the Taliban came to light after the release of two foreign journalists from the Taliban.
The British Foreign Office said in a statement that it was cooperating fully with the families of British nationals detained by the Taliban in Afghanistan and was in contact with senior Taliban officials.
The State Department did not say how many British nationals were detained, but Western media reported that the number could be as high as six, including a juvenile who was arrested in December and is a businessman as well as a businessman. He is also married to an Afghan woman.
It should be noted that the two foreign journalists released by the Taliban yesterday include former BBC correspondents. The Taliban said both journalists did not have travel documents.
