In the Indian state of Kerala, a transgender couple got married on Valentine's Day according to traditional rituals.
According to Indian media, transgender bride and groom Seema tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony held in Kerala in the presence of family and friends.
The bride is a resident of Manu Thrissur and works for an IT firm in Techno Park while the bride Seema is employed in the Transgender Cell, Department of Social Justice, Kerala.
The bride and groom will approach the High Court for registration of marriage under the Transgender Persons Rights Protection Act once the marriage papers are completed.
The couple thanked family and friends for attending the wedding and said that such an important and sensitive decision would not have been possible without the support of family and friends.
