Karachi Kings are batting against Multan Sultans in the first match of the seventh edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In the opening match of the event being played at the National Stadium in Karachi, Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and invited the Karachi Kings to bat.

Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan started the innings confidently, playing a responsible game.

Both the players batted well and gave the team a 66-run start. Sharjeel Khan adopted the traditional offensive style but captain Babar continued to struggle.

The Sultans got their first victory when Sharjeel Khan became the wicket of Aamir Tahir after playing an innings of 43 runs off 31 balls with 3 sixes and 3 fours.

The Kings had not yet recovered from the loss when Babar's innings came to an end in an attempt to hit a six to Khushdal Shah who scored 23 off 29 balls.

After the dismissal of Sharjeel Khan, no batsman was able to bat fast and the batsmen of Karachi Kings faced constant struggle in scoring runs.

Mohammad Nabi and Clarke added 32 runs for the third wicket but Imran Tahir bowled out Mohammad Nabi for 103.

Imran Tahir gave another victory to Multan Sultans in the 17th over when the wickets of newcomer Tom Lemonby were blown away after adding just one run.
