One person was killed and several others were injured when a gunman opened fire at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. The accused student also ended his life by shooting.
German police said a preliminary investigation into the incident, which took place on Monday afternoon, January 24, local time, showed that the attacker may not have been affiliated with any extremist organization and that he alone was responsible for his actions.
According to German media, the accused was a student of the same university. He was armed and entered the hall during a lecture and opened fire indiscriminately. He came and shot himself and ended his life.
