India has started installing Russian-made S400 defense missile system in Punjab sector.
According to India Today, top government sources said that the first S400 Air Defense Missile System Squadron is being installed in Punjab sector.
Russia, on the other hand, has begun supplying India with a Q400 air defense system, the first unit of which will be installed near the western front.
The announcement was made by Dmitry Shogev, director of the Russian Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), at the Dubai Air Show.
It should be noted that the FSMTC is the main defense export organization of the Russian government.
In addition, industry sources said that the first part of the squadron has started arriving in India and they will be deployed at a place where they can counter the threats from Pakistan and Chinese airspace.
According to sources, parts of the missile system are coming from air and sea routes and they will be installed at designated places soon.
He said the delivery of the first squadron would be completed by the end of this year and after its installation, the Indian Air Force would start focusing on the eastern front.
