The former head of Israel's intelligence agency has confirmed Tel Aviv's involvement in the killing of Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander General Qasim Soleimani.
This is the first time that a senior official has publicly acknowledged Israel's role in the killing of an Iranian commander.
Retired Israeli intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Temer Heyman confirmed Israel's involvement in the US operation against Gen. Qasim Soleimani for the first time in October this year.
In his interview, he said that in our eyes Iranians are important enemies and the death of General Qasim Soleimani was a great achievement.
He said that during his tenure as Chief of Army Intelligence, two important and major targets were targeted.
The former head of Israel's intelligence agency added that the first target was General Qasim Soleimani, who is rarely known to have the presence of such an important person who was preparing a militia against Israel.
The former leader called General Qasim Soleimani "the engine of the train of Iranian aggression" in the war-torn country of Syria.
On the other hand, the Israeli army refrained from commenting on the statement of Major General (retd) Temer Hyman.
It should be noted that in January 2020, the United States fired rockets at the airport in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, as a result of which 8 people, including Iranian General Qasim Soleimani, were killed.
Abu Mehdi al-Mohandes, deputy commander of the Iranian-backed militia Popular Mobilization Force (PMF), was also killed in the rocket attack.
