Calling India's independence a 'begging' cost Kangana Ranaut dearly

A complaint has been lodged against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for calling India's independence a "begging".

Actress Kangana Ranaut had recently said in an interview that the freedom we got in 1947 was a "begging". India got real independence in 2014 after the BJP came to power.

Kangana's statement calling Indian independence a "begging" was met with firestorms and protests and slogans against the actress. And now a complaint has been lodged with the police against Kangana Ranaut for this statement.

According to Indian media, a Congress leader from Jaipur has lodged a complaint against the actress at the Vaishali Nagar police station, where he described India's independence as "begging" or "charity".

According to Hira Lal Sini, SHO, Vaishali Nagar police station, the complainant said that Kangana Ranaut's statement was an insult to the Indian Constitution and freedom fighters. The police are investigating the matter and if any identifiable crime is found, we will register a case.
