For the first time in the history of the United Arab Emirates, the Israeli flag was hoisted at the presidential palace.
According to Arab media, a ceremony was held at the presidential palace on the arrival of the first Israeli ambassador to the UAE, Amir Hayek, in which the presidential guards also presented a guard of honor to the Israeli ambassador.
The Israeli national anthem was played at the presidential palace and the Israeli flag was hoisted for the first time in the UAE's history. Top UAE officials were also present at the ceremony.
Trade and diplomatic relations between the UAE and Israel have been fully restored. Israel's largest arms company has also opened a branch in the UAE.
Five countries, including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, have re-established diplomatic and trade relations with Israel as a result of mediation by his adviser and son-in-law under former US President Donald Trump.
The United Arab Emirates has also opened its embassy in Israel, and flights between the two countries continue.
