US: Woman raped in moving train, 'other passengers continue to use mobile'

According to the authorities of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the accused raped the woman after harassing her for 40 minutes during the moving train while the other people in the train continued to use their mobile phones.

According to the Associated Press (AP), the general manager of the South Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority told a news conference on October 19 that the accused not only molested the woman in the presence of other passengers, but also his wife. Also 'raped'.

According to authorities, the victim and the arrested 35-year-old suspect boarded a train from North Philadelphia at the same stop after 9pm one night and the accused started flirting with the woman a few minutes later.

Authorities said the accused harassed the woman on a 40-minute train and "raped" her after 9:50 a.m., while other passengers on the train continued to use their mobile phones.

Transport officials wondered why the passengers on the train did not call 911 and inform the police.

Officials said it was not clear if other passengers on the train had recorded the "rape" with the woman, nor was it clear how many people were in the bogie at the time of the incident.

Transport officials said that by the time the woman was harassed and raped, the train had crossed 12 stations and at each station some people must have got off and boarded the train.

According to the officials, a train crew called the police after noticing the unusual atmosphere in the bogie and the police reached within 3 minutes and arrested the accused while the woman was shifted to the hospital.

The victim said in a statement to police that she had repeatedly asked the accused not to tease her, but she refused.

The accused claimed in a recorded statement to the police that he was acquainted with the woman and all the cases took place with her consent.

Police have registered a case against the accused and started further investigation. The accused has applied to the court for 18,000 and further proceedings against him are expected by the end of this month.
