Several opposition leaders, including Sidhu and Priyanka Gandhi, have been arrested in India over the killing of eight farmers.

According to the International News Agency, several leaders, including Navjot Singh Sidhu and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, were arrested in India for expressing solidarity over the deaths of eight farmers during protests against the Modi government's controversial policies.

Meanwhile, police closed the Uttar Pradesh-Punjab border and barred the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Chhattisgarh from entering Uttar Pradesh, while a clash broke out between police and Samajwadi Party workers in Lucknow.

Farmers had protested against the arrival of Deputy Chief Minister Ajay Mishra in Uttar Pradesh yesterday, during which the BJP leader's son drove over the protesters, killing eight farmers.

Farmer leaders demanded the arrest of the deputy interior minister's son who was driving. Opposition leaders, including Navjot Sidhu, were coming to Uttar Pradesh to show solidarity with the farmers.
