Ricky Ponting turned down an offer to coach the Indian team.
Former Australian captain Ponting has been part of the Australian team's coaching staff on several occasions and the leading IPL franchise Delhi Capitals is also benefiting from his experience, which is why the Indian board offered him coaching.
The Indian Cricket Board has approached Rahul Dravid after Ponting's refusal. Dravid will take over as the new head coach of the Indian team in November.
