There were light to heavy rains in different parts of Shar-e-Quaid, as a result of which major highways were inundated and in the evening, those going home from offices and their jobs were stuck in traffic jams for hours.
Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Landhi, Korangi, Nazimabad and other areas of Karachi received moderate to heavy rains while heavy rains fell in Surjani Town, New Karachi, Buffer Zone and North Karachi and adjoining areas.
According to the report issued by the Meteorological Department, the highest rainfall of 70 mm was recorded in Surjani Town area of the city till 2 pm.
Besides, 36 mm rain was recorded at PAF Base Faisal, 18 mm at Nazimabad, 14.2 mm at Old Airport area, 10.2 mm at Jinnah Terminal, 7.2 mm at Saadi Town, 5.5 mm at Quaidabad and 3.6 mm at Gulshan-e-Maymar.

Heavy rains flooded low-lying areas and roads in the city, making it difficult for commuters to travel.
In addition, along with the rains, the tradition of power outages in some areas of the city including Shah Faisal Colony, Rafah Aam Society, Landhi and Malir continued.
On the other hand, Electric, a power supply company in the city, has instructed the citizens to take precautionary measures during the rainy season.
A message issued by K Electric said that in rainy season, switches such as street light switches or house bells can be electrocuted due to water leakage, so consumers can use wet hands or bare feet in rainy weather. Do not use switches or electrical appliances of any kind.
The Meteorological Department had said that monsoon winds would enter the upper parts of the country from Monday evening / night of September 20 and cause rains in other parts of the country by September 25, which would break the heat and confinement.
According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds and thundershowers along with strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in Tharparkar, Badin, Umerkot, Sanghar, Thatta, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Dadu and Jamshoro districts during the recent monsoon wave from September 23 to September 25. Rain is expected, while torrential rains were also forecast in some places.
