BEIJING: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today attended a video conference of G20 foreign ministers on Afghan affairs.
In his address, he said that as an important platform for global economic cooperation, the G20 countries should play a constructive role in helping to stabilize Afghanistan, promote development and ensure a reconciliation process.
He offered six points for a peaceful solution to the Afghan problem.
First, human sympathy is desperately needed; Second, economic sanctions must be lifted. Third, efforts should be made to promote tolerance through dialogue and communication. Fourth, there is an urgent need to strengthen cooperation in counter-terrorism. Fifth, the refugee problem must be completely resolved and; Sixth, we must work together under different mechanisms.
Wang Yi added that China is ready to work with the G20 member states and the
international community to help Afghanistan achieve a better future.
