American singer, actress, dancer and producer Britney Spears, 39, has got engaged to her longtime friend, fitness trainer and actor Sam Asghari, who is less than 12 years old.
The two confirmed via Instagram posts that they got engaged on September 13.
Britney Spears released a short video on Instagram, in which she can be seen romantically with her fianc, as well as showing her engagement ring in the video.
Sam Asghari also confirmed the engagement through his post and also shared a romantic photo with the singer.
Regarding the engagement of Britney Spears and Sam Asghari, the Associated Press (AP) reported that the singer was given a 4 carat diamond ring by her fianc.
The two are engaged at a time when the singer's father, James Spears, had approached the court last week to relinquish custody of his daughter.
Earlier, James Spears had submitted documents in court agreeing to relinquish his patronage.
James Spears has been the legal guardian of Britney Spears since 2008 and the singer cannot do any work without her father's permission and consent.
Britney Spears has been trying to end her father's patronage for the past two years and the court has rejected the singer's request at least four times since 2020.
However, the singer's father has now agreed to relinquish his patronage, after which it is thought that Britney Spears will be given control of her life or will be appointed as her guardian.
During her patronage, Britney Spears' make-up artist claimed in October 2020 that the singer had not yet married due to her father's strictness and patronage.
The make-up artist had said that if Britney Spears had not been imprisoned under guardianship, she would have married her longtime boyfriend, 27-year-old fitness trainer of Iranian descent, Sam Asghari, and they would have had children.
However, now that they are engaged, it is thought that the two will get married soon after the end of patronage, but it is too early to say anything in this regard.
Sam Asghari and Britney Spears formed a relationship in 2016 and both have performed together in one song.
