Former national cricket team captain Shahid Afridi is rumored to be part of the Quetta Gladiators in the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar says Quetta fans want Shahid Afridi to be part of their team. If Sarfraz Ahmed himself relinquishes the captaincy, then Shahid Afridi can also be made the captain.

Nadeem Omar said that Shahid Afridi knows the skill of fighting the team. Despite winning the Kashmir Premier League, he led his team to the title.
