India's state-run think tank Niti Ayog has expressed fears of a third wave of corona across the country next month, with the possibility of four to five lakh cases being reported on a daily basis.
According to the Indian Express, Nitiya Ayog had submitted its report to the government last month, which feared that between four and five lakh cases could be reported on a daily basis during the third wave of Corona in September. In the third wave, 23 out of every 100 patients may need to be hospitalized.
The think tank has suggested that another 200,000 ICU beds should be ready across India by next month. A total of 120,000 ventilators, 700,000 non-ICU beds with oxygen and 1 million isolation care beds may be required.
