The Taliban claim control of five key districts in Afghanistan

 

Even before the withdrawal of US troops, the Taliban claimed control of five key districts in various Afghan provinces from government forces.

According to the International News Agency, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote in his series of tweets that the key districts of Zabul, Uruzgan, Ghazni and Nuristan have gained control by repelling government forces. He also claimed to have established his government in four districts of Laghman. Thus, a total of 9 districts have been completely ruled by the Taliban. In this regard, the spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Interior, Tariq Aryan, told the international news agency, rejecting the claim of the Taliban, said that Afghan security The forces have retreated strategically.

According to Afghan media, Taliban fighters entered different districts of 5 provinces including Zabul and seized security check posts and forced the security personnel to retreat after the fierce clash. It should be noted that withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan has started. It has been completed, which will be completed by September 11, but in the meantime, clashes between the Taliban and security forces have intensified, with the Taliban winning on several fronts.
