Giving good news to Pakistanis, Shaukat Tareen announced that a reduction of up to 40% in the holding tax regime has been proposed.
According to details, Shaukat Tareen said that the current holding tax rate on mobile phones is proposed to be reduced from 12.5 per cent to 10 per cent while holding tax on mobile services will be gradually reduced to 8 per cent.
Addressing the budget in the National Assembly, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that federal excise duty was being imposed on phone calls lasting more than three minutes. In addition, federal excise duty has been imposed on the use of Internet data and SMS.
