The father of 38-year-old Trinidadian American singer Nikki Minaj was killed in a road accident.
The Associated Press (AP) reported that the pop singer's father was hit by a speeding car, seriously injuring him and he was taken to a local hospital.
The report states that on the evening of February 13 in Nissau County, New York, a speeding car hit the singer's father Robert Miraj, leaving him critically injured.
According to police, the singer's father was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where his death was confirmed.
The singer has not yet issued a statement on her father's death and police have not been able to arrest the driver who hit her father.
Nikki Manaj's father died at a time when the singer had given birth to her first child a few months ago.
