Indian bold actress Sherlyn Chopra, 37, who produces bold content for foreign adults, is facing legal action in India for promoting inappropriate content.
Sherlyn Chopra was last year sued under Section 67A, Section 67A, Section 292 of the Information Technology Act 2000 and sections three and four of the Information Technology Act 2008, including the provisions of the Women Protection Act 1986, on the complaint of a citizen.
According to Indian newspaper India Today, Mumbai police had completed preparations for action against Sherlyn Chopra after the case, but the actress had applied for pre-arrest bail in a local court, due to which the police did not arrest her. ۔
However, the local court on February 19 rejected the actress' plea, saying that the actress had acted illegally by advertising inappropriate content on electronic devices.
The actress filed a petition in the Bombay High Court on February 19 after the petition was rejected by a local court and the court restrained the police from taking immediate action against the actress.
The lawsuits filed against the actress are all related to the promotion, spread and misrepresentation of pornography in India.
In India, it is illegal to watch pornographic films or scenes in public places, while it is also illegal to produce and disseminate material that is nude or offensive to others. Imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh can also be imposed.
