PSL Season 6, Peshawar Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz may not play first match

The Pakistan Super League starts today and the opening match of the season will be played between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators. However, the next match of the season will be played between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators on February 21. Captain Wahab Riaz will not get along.

According to details, Peshawar Zalmai captain Wahab Riaz along with coach Darren Sammy had met the owner outside the biosecure zone. The incident took place during a practice match yesterday, due to which the team's photo shoot with the trophy has also been postponed on Saturday.

A PCB statement said a team player and official had been sent in isolation for three days for violating the biosecure bubble. Both met with a third person outside the biosecure bubble, and both must have two negative test results before rejoining the squad.

According to sources, Peshawar Zalmi will decide the new captain in the match against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday in place of Wahab Riaz on Saturday. Shoaib Malik is a prominent candidate. On the other hand, the second test of another franchise player has also come positive. However, since he is already in isolation, the team will not be affected.
