
In the Indian state of Maharashtra, a 30-year-old man allegedly killed his friend and chose her on the wall of his flat because she was insisting on marrying him.
According to Indian media, police told reporters that the 30-year-old accused brutally killed his 32-year-old girlfriend for insisting on marriage.
An official statement said the woman was killed in October last year and the remains were found a few days before the accused's flat.
The statement said that the accused and the victim had been in a relationship for five years. The woman was last seen with the accused on October 21, which led to her being interrogated.
When the family members of the victim asked the accused about the woman, he said that she had gone to Gujarat. The woman's family then contacted police, who arrested the man and recovered his body, the statement said.
Police have registered a case against the accused for murder and other offenses under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
