A state-of-the-art London luxury model taxi service will now be provided in Dubai. This year, the taxi service will be available at Dubai International Airport.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that it will launch a London taxi model service in Dubai this year using hybrid vehicles.
According to Gulf News, this new black taxi with a medium size is similar to the London Cab in the capital of England.
The Dubai Taxi Corporation of the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai will launch a London taxi service from February on a trial basis. This taxi service will be available at Dubai International Airport.
The new service is part of RTA's plan to further improve taxi service in Dubai, said Matar Muhammad Al-Tayyar, chairman of the Road Transport Authority's board of executive directors. Al-Tayyar said this on the occasion of his visit to DTC where he reviewed the performance of the corporation in 2020 and the projects to be launched this year.
He was briefed on the interior features of the London Taxi which is unique and spacious. It offers riders 6 seats in open space and separate cabins.
The taxi has a satellite-based navigation system, voice command system, frontal collision warning system, blind spot monitoring system and lane departure monitoring system, as well as Wi-Fi network.
Al-Tayyar was also briefed on the technical features of the London taxi. This dual-engine vehicle will be better controlled in different weather conditions.
It has a high speed braking system and a battery to run the engine which can be charged in 30 minutes thanks to high speed charging and in 3 hours by a normal charging system.
Al-Tayyar also inspected the Hyundai Ionic Electrical Vehicle, which features aerodynamic design, rear collision avoidance system, drawing mode control system, and regenerative braking that can increase driving time, while speeding up to 54 minutes. A rechargeable battery is also part of it.
These taxis are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to prevent driver errors. These include a vehicle stop system through the control center in an emergency, a backup tracking system and a schedule.
