New Privacy Policy, President Tayyab Erdogan stopped using WhatsApp

 

Following the introduction of a new privacy policy by the messaging application WhatsApp, the media office of Turkish President Recep Tayyab Erdogan announced that it would stop using WhatsApp.

Turkey says it is unacceptable to discriminate between EU countries and other countries in terms of data privacy.

According to the news agency after the explanatory statements issued by WhatsApp yesterday, the Turkish presidential office said that their media office will give briefings to journalists through BIP app from today, which is a unit of Turkish communication company Turkish Cell.

Turkish state media quoted Turkish Cell as saying that in just 24 hours, the number of BIP subscribers increased by 1.12 million while it has 53 million subscribers worldwide.
