Democratic candidate Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th President of the United States on January 20.
Joe Biden's swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Capitol where singer Lady Gaga will sing the American national anthem while Jennifer Lopez will also evoke the magic of her voice.
"They are a clear reflection of the diversity of our great nation," Biden's team said in a statement, according to the Associated Press.
The statement said that their participation in the swearing-in ceremony reflects the vision of a new chapter in our American story of Biden and newly elected Vice President Kamala Harris, in which we, the United States, are deeply divided and facing the challenges facing our people. We are united to unite the country and restore the spirit of our nation.
The announcement of the two's performances came a day after Biden's announcement of hosting a special TV broadcast of the swearing-in ceremony.
Actor Tom Hanks will host a 90-minute Prime TV special on the occasion of Biden's swearing-in on January 20.
Other performers at the swearing-in ceremony include Justin Timberlake, John Bon June, Demi Lovato and Ant Clemens.
Demi Lovato wrote in an Instagram post expressing her feelings that when asked about performing, I was overwhelmed.
Singer and rapper Ant Clemens said that it would be less to say that a dream has come true.
Timber Lake, on the other hand, said that he and Ant Clemens would perform on their new song "Better Days", adding that the song was an attempt to keep everyone optimistic and encouraging.
Joe Biden's swearing-in ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC on January 20 at 8:30 pm Eastern Time.
The event will also be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitter, Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, NewsNow, Direct TV and U-Versus.
According to the producers, the show will reflect the resilience, courage and unity of the American people as a nation.
Keep in mind that last week's riots in the US House of Representatives (Capitol Hill) will make the event a little different, with tight security in the area.
The event was already restricted due to the corona virus, while Joe Biden told supporters to watch the event from home and away.
Traditional activities such as parades will be virtual in the context of crowd restrictions to reduce the spread of the virus.
