Senior journalist Hamid Mir has said that Maulana Sherani was expelled from the party for supporting Israel because the JUI-F's manifesto clearly states that it will support Palestine.
Senior journalist Hamid Mir slammed the rebel leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and said that as long as Hafiz Hussain Ahmed continued to be a senator and a member of the Assembly, he was against the policy of Maulana Fazlur Rehman. There was no objection. Today, he is not even a senator or a member of the National Assembly, but he objected to Maulana's policies.
Hamid Mir said that the departure of two servants does not make any difference to the party and does not disintegrate the party. All members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami stand with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
It may be recalled that the disciplinary committee had suspended the party membership of Maulana Sherani, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Gul Naseeb, and Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk for violating party discipline by members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami.
