Diplomatic relations have also been established between Israel and Bhutan. According to Geo News, talks between the two countries have been going on for the past year and now regular diplomatic relations have been established. The meeting was held at the residence of the Israeli Ambassador in Delhi and was signed by the Ambassadors of the two countries. Israel has not yet said whether an embassy will be opened in the Bhutanese capital, Thimbu, or whether the Israeli ambassador to India will be appointed as a non-resident ambassador to Sri Lanka.
