MOSCOW: In the middle of a road in the eastern Russian city of Yazno Sakhalynsk, a pool of dirty water, fed up with the negligence of the authorities, opened an Instagram account a few months ago. Not only that, but so far this account has more than 16000 followers.
On a Russian-language Instagram account called ya_luzha_u_doma, the couple occasionally utters sad words and laments the government's indifference to its repairs. According to the details, this pool of wastewater was formed 26 years ago today, in 1994, due to the accumulation of water in a pit on a road in the city of Yajno.
Residents of the area have complained to the local government several times. Repairs to the pit have been announced several times, but practically no repairs have been made, and a few years later, the small lake expanded and covered a large part of the road. Seeing this situation, an unknown person living nearby decided to highlight this issue through social media.
This account was created in September this year through which the couple discusses itself and other issues arising out of its own cause. In his first post, Johar wrote in Russian, summarizing that I am now 26 years old and with this account I will share my troubles with the world.
Since then, in just four months, the account has become so popular that today it has more than 16,000 social media followers. The traumatic aspect of this matter is that the local government of Yajno expressed its intention to repair and fill the pothole of this road in 2014 but then this work was postponed till 2017. A few months ago, this work was further postponed until 2024.
At the moment, however, the lake has come to the attention of not only the world but also the Russian media thanks to its social media account. It remains to be seen whether this outcry on social media will bring any color!
