The modern ship 'PNS Tabuk' has been added to the Pakistan Navy's fleet.
The inauguration ceremony of PNS Tabuk, a modern corvette built for Pakistan Navy, was held at Pakistan Navy Dockyard, Karachi.
According to Pakistan Navy spokesman, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was the chief guest at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, the special guest termed the inclusion of PNS Tabuk in the navy as an important milestone for the operational capability of Pakistan Navy.
He said the inclusion of modern corvette in the navy would help in promoting a safe maritime environment in the region.
The Naval Chief highlighted the need and importance of a strong navy in the context of the rapidly changing geostrategic situation in the region and the growing maritime challenges.
Talking about the atrocities committed against the people of Occupied Kashmir, he paid homage to the exemplary struggle of the Kashmiri people against Indian atrocities for their right to self-determination.
It should be noted that the Pakistan Navy had signed an agreement in 2017 to acquire two Yarmouk class Corvette.
The first ship in this series, PNS Yarmouk, was added to the Pakistan Navy fleet in July this year, while the second ship, PNS Tabuk, was formally added to the Pakistan Navy today.
