After the death of Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, his eldest son Hafiz Saad Rizvi has been appointed as the new Amir of Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan.
Hafiz Saad Rizvi was the Deputy Secretary General of Tehreek-e-Labeek in the presence of Allama Khadim Rizvi. His appointment was announced by Syed Zaheerul Hassan Shah, Central Deputy Amir of the party at the funeral prayer of his father.
The new head of Tehreek-e-Labeek is a student of the last degree of Nizami Dars-e-Hadith at his father's madrassa, Abu Dharr Ghaffari University. This is the class in which the students are taught the books of hadith known as Sahih Sittah. He has been appointed by the 16 members of the party's new Amir Shura after consultation.
Talking to BBC, Muhammad Salman, a close friend of Saad Rizvi, said that Allama Khadim Rizvi used to make statements and announcements but the policy shura was prepared by Hafiz Saad. He had been running the organizational affairs of the movement from the very beginning, so taking over the responsibilities of the party would not be a new thing for him. Hafiz Saad, like his father, has a passion for poetry. He also has deep connections with university students and is an expert on social media.
Speaking to website Urdu News, Pir Ijaz Ashrafi, leader of Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan, said, “The shura fully agreed on the name of Saad Rizvi. And one of the main reasons was to maintain unity within the party. And we are sure that Hafiz Saad Rizvi will run the affairs very well and with it a 16-member shura. That will help them. "
