UAE decides to open land border with Oman


The UAE has developed a systematic response plan to counteract the effects of the corona virus, ensure business continuity and restore growth in record time.
To this end, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation have announced the launch of ground-level movement at the state level from Monday, November 16, 2020.
According to the Emirati news agency WAM, the three organizations said in a joint statement that Omani citizens are exempt from prior approval to enter the country by land.
Omani citizens will be required to submit a negative PCR result provided the test is performed in a certified laboratory in their home country and is not older than 48 hours.
Omani citizens are required to undergo Covid 19 tests at border checkpoints as soon as they arrive and to take all precautions in accordance with the approved protocol by installing the Al Hassan application.
If they stay in the UAE for four consecutive days, they will have to undergo a PCR test on the fourth day. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has also noted that the quarantine procedure for tourists visiting the country is in accordance with local procedures.
If a person enters the country with a positive Corona test result, the procedure of denial of entry will be applied in accordance with international rules and regulations.
