The UN General Assembly's arms embargo committee overwhelmingly passed three resolutions tabled by Pakistan, but India voted against, showing traditional stubbornness.
According to media reports, Pakistan had tabled resolutions on the prevention of conventional and non-conventional weapons, arms control at the regional and regional levels, and confidence-building measures in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jahanzeb said that Pakistan has the honor of being at the forefront of regional arms embargo, conventional arms control and confidence building measures for many years. Thank you for your full support of the resolutions and initiatives.
These resolutions make arms control essential to global efforts. The resolutions tabled by Pakistan call for an end to the arms race in the region. The resolution on conventional weapons in the region was passed with the support of 159 countries. India was the only country in the arms embargo committee that Voted against the resolutions tabled by Pakistan.
The adoption of these resolutions with the strong support of the member countries is a recognition of Pakistan's commitment to the promotion of regional and global goals, as well as to the strengthening of international security and peace.
