The letter, sent 110 years ago by a pigeon, was received by a French couple in 2020.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, a letter sent a century ago found a couple walking in the eastern part of France locked in a capsule with a message from a German soldier.
The letter was written in German by a soldier from the German state of Prussia and was sent to his officer by an infantryman stationed in Ingersheim with details of his movements.
According to media reports, the letter was probably written in 1910 or 1916 when Ingersheim was under German rule.
The couple described the letter as an "extraordinary discovery" and said it was wrapped in an aluminum capsule.
The foreign news agency said the couple took the letter to a nearby museum, which was set up in Orby about the bloody battles of World War I. This war lasted from 1914 to 1918.
According to foreign media, this small capsule and the letter sent in it will now be kept in this museum for permanent exhibition.
