A 2-year-old female pigeon named New Kim was put up for auction for only 200 euros.
"I believe this is a world record, never before has there been such a formal sale at this price," said PIPA Chairman Nicholas Gasel Brackett.
"I didn't think we could reach that price,"
The PIPA chairman said that the buyer of the pigeon, who did not want to be named, may want to breed the pigeon.
It is believed that New Kim had won the 'S Pigeon Grand National Middle Distance' competitions to be held in 2018 in Shatogo and Argenton-sur-Cruz in France.

Wealthy buyers from Gulf and Asian countries have increased the prices of champion birds that fly thousands of kilometers and then return home because of their ability.
This love of pigeons has been a part of Belgian and Dutch life, and the tradition is now spreading to France.
However, the competition for speed of the pigeons declined until there were payments for potential winners in the auctions and for the birds that won the competition.
