Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has ordered an inquiry into incidents of harassment of female students by teachers at Islamia College University.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, taking note of the protest against harassment of female students of Islamia College University, directed the Governor's inspection team to conduct a transparent inquiry and submit a report within three days.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman said that incidents of harassment in educational institutions could not be tolerated under any circumstances, strict action would be taken against those involved in harassment, and full protection would be provided to female students in all higher education universities, including Islamia College. The dignity of our daughters cannot be compromised.
Recently, the students of Islamia College University staged a protest outside the Vice Chancellor's office against the harassment incidents in the institution in which the students also participated. Demonstrators chanted slogans against the university administration and teachers. Demonstrators said that teachers harass female students while checking pamphlets and conducting research papers. No protection is being given to female students by the college administration. Education demanded protection for female students.
