According to details, the first meeting of the special committee formed to monitor Punjab CPEC projects was held in Lahore. The meeting was attended by Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Javan Bakht, Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal and Chairman P&D.
The meeting also approved the inclusion of Taunsa Hydropower Plant in communication, agriculture projects in CPEC. It was also decided in the meeting that feasibility reports of proposed projects in CPEC would be prepared. Planning will be done to increase the number of users.
Issuing instructions in the meeting, the Finance Minister said that the industry department should prepare a business plan for business parks and the energy department should focus on meeting the energy needs of the province. It should be noted that on September 24, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar met Chairman CPEC Authority. Asim Saleem Bajwa had a meeting in which the progress of ongoing projects under CPEC in Punjab was discussed in detail.
The meeting emphasized the need to speed up work on CPEC projects in Punjab, focus more on research for the development of the agricultural sector and introduce new seeds to increase crop production.
On the occasion, the Punjab Chief Minister said that according to the vision of the Prime Minister, work on CPEC is being carried out on priority basis, CPEC projects in Punjab are being completed with transparency and speed, completion of CPEC projects will improve the economy.
In the meeting, Chairman CPEC Authority Asim Saleem Bajwa said that CPEC project is of indispensable importance for Pakistan, CPEC projects are moving towards completion.
