Following the decision to close educational institutions, the Punjab government also decided to close business centers at 6 pm. This decision was taken due to the non-implementation of Corona SOPs. However, Lahore Chambers and other associations opposed the government's decision. Disagreeing with and taking the position that this decision is not in the interest of business, the reverse rush will increase and a meeting of government representatives with all stakeholders is expected today after which a notification is likely to be issued.
In view of the growing concerns of Corona, it has been decided to close the business centers in the second phase soon and this decision will also be applicable to wholesale, sale, and retail stores. Government sources were quoted as saying that SOPs were not being implemented, adding that the decision was taken so that people could return home soon and follow SOPs.
On the other hand, the Lahore Chambers and other associations wrote a letter saying that the decision was not in the interest of the business and took the position that the rush would increase. Sources said that the government representatives will have a meeting with the concerned stakeholders today after which the notification will be issued.
The sources further said that the federation had consulted with Punjab, first it would be implemented in Punjab and after seeing the reaction of the business community, it would be implemented in other provinces as well. If educational institutions are closed, children will also be barred from entering malls.
