According to the text of the letter, apart from the salaries of the police officers, confidential information should be provided about other businesses and sources of livelihood, and also about the general reputation of the police officers for their work and role in the society.
In the letter, Lahore Police Chief Muhammad Omar Sheikh requested that records of police officers be provided as soon as possible, initially assets of 197 SDPOs, SHOs and officers in charge of investigations. Letters have been written for property, salary, livelihood, business and general reputation.
Lahore CCPO Muhammad Omar Sheikh has said that there will be departmental investigations against police officers who have assets in excess of their income. In future, no police officer will be deployed in the field without submitting details of assets.
In addition, CCPO Lahore has also issued Assistance Declaration for the posting of Field Officers. He further said that the purpose of obtaining confidential reports is to maintain check and balance on police officers, proper check and balance and departmental accountability will improve police working, all police officers and personnel will be subject to law.
